  • June:The Soviet cosmonaut, Alexei Leonov, becomes the first human to land on the Moon.
  • July:Apollo 11. Proceeds more or less as OTL.
  • September:The second Soviet mission lands a woman on the Moon.
  • October:Apollo 12,lands in Sinus Medii.

1970

  • April:Apollo 13. Unlike OTL Apollo 13,there is no explosion. Jim Lovell and Fred Hanse become fsixth and seventh people on Moon.
  • July:unsuccessful Soviet moon landing attempt.
  • Early autumn:Apollo 14.

  • Late spring:Soviet lunar landing.
  • Unsuccessful N-1 attempt to launch Mars lander.
