1969

• June:The Soviet cosmonaut, Alexei Leonov, becomes the first human to land on the Moon.
• July:Apollo 11. Proceeds more or less as OTL.
• September:The second Soviet mission lands a woman on the Moon.
• October:Apollo 12,lands in Sinus Medii.

1970

• April:Apollo 13. Unlike OTL Apollo 13,there is no explosion. Jim Lovell and Fred Hanse become fsixth and seventh people on Moon.
• July:unsuccessful Soviet moon landing attempt.
• Early autumn:Apollo 14.

1971

• Spring:Apollo 15.

• Late spring:Soviet lunar landing.
• Unsuccessful N-1 attempt to launch Mars lander.
• Late summer:Apollo 16. TVC Control problems lead to shortening of lunar stay time. The Apollo program is temporarily grounded.

1972

• April:Apollo 17.
• First launch of Zvezda lunar base:N-1 transports cargo modules to Moon. Another N-1 launches the Venera 8 space probe.
• Late in the year:Apollo 18. The first crew launches to Zvezda. The Space Shuttle and Sea Dragon programs are approved.
• During the 1972 Presidential election, Richard Nixon is defeated by Ted Kennedy,by a heavy margin.
• November:Skylab launches.

1973

• March:Apollo 19.
• April:Launch of Salyut 1,the first Soviet space station.
• May: The Zvezda crew is relieved.

1983

• Ed and Karen discuss a live coverage from the South Pacific Ocean showing a sea launch of a rocket similar to the Sea Dragon carrying a plutonium payload for expansion of the Jamestown colony.
