Spacecraft

A spacecraft is a vehicle designed to fly in outer space.

General information[]

Spacecraft are used to place, construct, repair, and/or maintain satellites or Space stations around Earth, or to transport humans and/or cargo to other celestial bodies or between those objects and their orbits. Spacecraft can be both crewed or uncrewed vehicles and can vary greatly in size and design depending on its operation purpose. Except for the case of single-stage-to-orbit vehicles, spacecraft launched from Earth always need a launch vehicle (carrier rocket). Spacecraft are used by govermental space agencies and military, but also by private companies, like Helios Aerospace.
