Shane Baldwin was the late son of Edward and Karen Baldwin.

History

Shane was a good friend of Danny Stevens, the two boys were about the same age. Karen used to take care of Danny and his younger brother Jimmy when their parents, Gordo and Tracy Stevens were busy with their astronaut programs.

While his father was on a mission at Jamestown, he acted out on multiple occasions, getting into trouble along with Danny. Eventually, he was grounded, preventing him from attending his basketball game. Upset, Shane rode off on his bicycle while his mother attended a PTA meeting. However, Shane got into an accident on the way, leaving him brain dead. He is eventually put to rest.

His father previously wrote Shane's name in the regolith on the Moon. After Shane's death, Ed set up a stone memorial, in Shane's memory, near his inscribed name.

Shane's bedroom became Kelly Baldwin's room when she was adopted into the Baldwin family as a child. Years later, Kelly discovered some stashed toys in an air vent in her bedroom, like a toy car and Shane's favorite Popeye action figure.
