The Moon is an astronomical body that orbits Earth and a permanent natural satellite. The Soviet Union and United States of America had a space race to the moon. While the Americans were close with Apollo 10, the Soviet cosmonaut, Alexei Leonov stepped foot on the Moon shortly after. A month after Leonov, Apollo 11 landed on the moon shortly after, but Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were stranded after Eagle had crashed upon landing.
