During his spacewalk, he was hit by a broken cable and died.

After Aleida Rosales showed Bill Strausser her investigation about the presumably stolen NERVA design and her suspicion against Margo Madison, Bill informed the FBI, against her will. FBI agent Rodriguez and Bill then met Aleida in the Outpost, but Aleida didn't want to talk to her and was very upset that Bill involved the FBI behind her back. Rodriguez told Aleida that she understands her aversion but that the case is now open and would be investigated with or without her help.
