Julio's Tex-Mex is a Tex-Mex restaurant in Houston, Clear Lake. Formerly known as the famous Outpost, it has changed owners, name, theme, and cuisine at some point between 1995 and 2003.
History[]
In 2003, Aleida Rosales and Kelly Baldwin met at Julio's for the first time, when both were frustrated after Aleida quit her job at NASA and Kelly was cut from founding for her research project by NASA administrator Eli Hobson. They both got drunk on Tequila, and Kelly woke up with a hangover on Aleida's couch the next day.[1]

Behind the scenes[]
In reality, the "Outpost Tavern" was closed in 2000, but a "Save the Outpost" campaign was started, raising enough funding to reopen it with a facelift. The bar finally closed the doors for good in 2010.[2][3]
