Ilya Breshov, in season 4, episode 2, "Have A Nice Sol"

Ilya Breshov is a Soviet worker for Helios Aerospace at Happy Valley, and a veteran of the Mars base. He has been working for Helios for 15 years, first on the Moon, then on Mars.

History

Season 4

In 2003, Ilya ran an inconspicuous bar in the underground levels of Happy Valley, where he sold self-made Vodka. He was also operating a small smuggling ring and offered hard to acquire items like LaserDiscs, Playboy magazines, and other things his customers demanded.

When Miles Dale arrived at Happy Valley, Ilya approached him right away, offering his services. Later, Samantha Massey took Miles to Ilya's bar.

When Miles realized that he was not making the amount of money he expected, he asked Ilya to work for him, and since Miles had a Green Card due to working for base maintenance, giving him access to many restricted areas of the colony, he was accepted and became part of Ilya's smuggling operations. Subsequently, Miles was able to canvass many new customers, but broke the still in Ilya's bar. To fix it, Miles had to steal a part from the North Korean sector of the base, but was caught by Lee Jung-Gil. Lee, who already knew about Ilya's smuggling, asked to smuggle his wife to Mars. When Ilya later is asked how the plan to bring Lee's wife to Mars was going, he stated that the risk is too high, although he did not let Lee know about it.

Later on, Ilya discovers that Miles is secretly using his smuggling ring to send some type of Martian rocks to Earth, which are used to make jewelry and sell for high prices, although he had rejected that idea when asked by Miles before. He informes his man in the loading dock, Petros Khorenatsi, that Miles is cut out. Miles discovers this news when attempting to load more of his rocks. He is warned not to speak to Ilya ever again and is choked against the wall. This spurs Miles into action, informing Lee of Ilya's true plans for his wife. Lee sends North Koreans to the loading dock, beating Petros. Miles then takes over Ilya's bar with the help of Lee and the North Koreans in exchange for continuing to help with Lee's wife.
