Astronauts, cosmonauts, or ujunauts, are individuals trained by a spaceflight program to command, pilot, or serve as members of a spacecraft.
Terminology[]
In the United States and most other western countries, the term "astronaut" is commonly used.
In the Soviet Union, the term "kosmonavt" (Russian: космонавт) is used ("cosmonaut" in English).
In North Korea, the term "ujunaut" is used.[1]
