Artem is a newspaper man with a newsstand in Moscow.
History[]
As part of her daily morning routine, Margo Madison uses to buy some newspapers at Artem's kiosk near a park in Moscow and read them on a park bench while eating some pastries bought from a nearby baker.[1]
Some time later, all TV channels were playing Swan Lake, and when Margo tried to use the telephone, the lines were down. The streets were mostly empty, and her baker told her to go back home. When she arrived at Artem's newsstand, there was police trying to close his kiosk, and an enraged crowd was asking the policemen for answers about what happened to Mikhail Gorbachev. More police forces arrived and started beating down the crowd, including Artem, and closed his stand, saying that only essential business was allowed to be open. When they started to beat Artem, Margo tried to come to his aid, but was pulled away and fell, and then arrested.[2]
