Apollo 19 was an orbital spaceflight mission by NASA. The crew included mission commander Fred Haise, Ellen Waverly, and Harrison Liu.
Notes[]
- Apollo 19 happened between Oct. 1971 and Aug. 1974 during a time jump between episodes 1x05 and 1x06.
- The only thing known about this mission is the misson patch with the astronaut's names.
- From the mission patch it can be concluded that this was an orbital mission with a Saturn IB.
- Deke Slayton mentioned it after the Soviet Moon landing when he told the astronauts that training for Apollo 12 through 20 will continue as planned as long as there are no other decisions coming from top.[1]
- Harrison Liu mentioned that he served with Ellen Wilson on Apollo 19 already when they are in a talk show with host Barry Newsome before launch of Apollo 24.[2]
- Fred Haise does not appear in the series.
Behind the sences[]
Apollo 19 in the OTL was supposed to land at Hadley Rille in July 1972. Another proposed mission plan was to land at the Copernicus crater in December 1973. The mission was cancelled like all other planned missions beyond Apollo 17, due to the Apollo 13 accident and budget cuts. The planned crew consisted of the originally planned Apollo 16 backup crew and included Fred Haise (Commnder), William Pogue (CSM pilot), and Gerald Carr (LEM pilot).
