Apollo 16 was a crewed spaceflight mission by NASA. The crew included John Young, Charles Duke, and an astronaut going by the last name Davis.
Notes[]
- Apollo 16 happened between Oct. 1971 and Aug. 1974 during a time jump between episodes 1x05 and 1x06.
- The only thing known about this mission is the misson patch with the astronaut's names.
- Deke Slayton mentioned it after the Soviet Moon landing when he told the astronauts that training for Apollos 12 - 20 will continue as planned as long as there are no other decisions coming from top.[1]
- It was also mentioned when they discussed whether Apollo 15 should change its planned landing spot while still in lunar orbit. Houston told them they should stick to the plan and they would re-task Apollo 16 for Shackleton Crater instead.[2]
- John Young did not appear in the series.
- Astronaut Davis could be a reference to producer Maril Davis.
