Behind the scenes[]

  • The Apollo-Soyuz Test ProjectW (ASTP) in the For All Mankind universe is one of the few real-life parallel event that occurs later than in real life (another one is the first Space Shuttle launch). The real life ASTP occured in 1975, while in the show it takes place in 1983. This also means the universal docking adapter was a piece of technology developed later in the show than in real life, but for political rather than technological reasons.
  • In both timelines, Apollo-Soyuz was the last Apollo mission.
