Alexei Leonov is a Soviet cosmonaut and the first man on the moon.


On 18 March 1965, he became the first human to conduct a spacewalk, exiting the capsule during the Voskhod 2 mission. His historic spacewalk lasted, 12 minutes and 9 seconds. The original plan called for 10 minutes.

On June 26 1969, he landed on the moon, becoming the first human to do so.
