The Administrator of NASA is the highest-ranked official of NASA, the US national space agency. The administrator is assigned by the president of the United States and is therefore often a political person. The NASA administrator is also the president's main consultant for everything related to the national space program.
As of 2003, NASA's administrator is former ChryslerW CEO Eli Hobson.

Behind the scenes[]
In the timeline of For All Mankind, NASA has become more autonomous and independent than in OTL over the years. This seems to have also affected the role of the administrator, which by the 1990s appears to have become a less important position in the agency.
This appears to have changed after the JSC bombing. With Eli Hobson as administrator in the early 2000s, the position clearly gained back more power.
It is currently unknown if Richard Truly still served during Ellen Wilson's second term, and if he even survived the bombing. It would not be surprising if the position would have been new assigned after the tragedy.
