The 1992 United States presidential election was the 52nd quadrennial presidential election, held on Tuesday, November 3, 1992. Republican nominee senator Ellen Wilson defeated governor Bill Clinton and independent businessman Ross Perot from Texas.

Early in the race Al Gore was the front runner and Democratic hopeful, but due to not attacking Clinton and having a poor showing during super Tuesday, making the way for Clinton to pick up the nomination for president.[1]

Bob Dole was the frontrunner for the Republican nomination for president, but in a close race, Wilson won it instead. It was believed that for her running mate it would either be Bob Dole or John McCain, but to balance out the ticket she chose Idaho governor James Bragg as her running mate.[1]

The general election was about communist influence growing stronger in the world, the jobs lost due to the space industry and the race to Mars.
